Neuroprotective and Functional Improvement Effects of Methylene Blue in Global Cerebral Ischemia

This study investigates the neuroprotective effects of methylene blue (MB) in a rat model of global cerebral ischemia (GCI). The findings show that MB treatment significantly improved neuronal survival, particularly in the CA1 region of the hippocampus, and enhanced mitochondrial function by increasing cytochrome c oxidase activity and ATP production.
