Lack of efficacy of finasteride in postmenopausal women with androgenetic alopecia

This randomized controlled trial evaluated the efficacy of finasteride (1 mg/day) in 137 postmenopausal women aged 41 to 60 with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) over 12 months. Despite its known mechanism of inhibiting type 2 5α-reductase to reduce dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the study found no statistically significant improvement in hair growth, slowing
