Lifelong doubling of mortality in men entering adult life as obese
This 2011 cohort study followed 5,338 Danish men, including 1,862 classified as obese (BMI ≥31 kg/m²) at a median age of 19, over a 65-year period. The study found that obese men had a twofold higher all-cause mortality risk compared to controls (HR: 2.10; 95% CI: 1.84–2.39). Median survival was
