Urinary 8-OHdG as a Biomarker for Oxidative Stress: A Systematic Literature Review and Meta-Analysis
This systematic review and meta-analysis examined urinary 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) as a biomarker for oxidative DNA damage, analyzing 84 studies with 128 subgroups. The study found a pooled geometric mean of 3.9 ng/mg creatinine for urinary 8-OHdG levels in healthy adults with a mean BMI ≤ 25, measured using chemical methods.
