Integrative Role of the Histaminergic System in Feeding and Taste Perception
This review article examines the role of the histaminergic system in regulating feeding behavior and taste perception. Histamine acts as an anorectic neurotransmitter via H₁ receptor stimulation and is positioned downstream of leptin signaling. The study highlights that histaminergic activity increases during feeding and is influenced by oral somatic sensations
